Carol is an expert at mixing the modern with the classic, the trendy with the timeless and the high with the low. Mastering that talent results in a balanced and sophisticated interior that reflects the needs of each of her clients.

Carol’s career in interior design and home staging began organically after collaborating and learning firsthand from a close friend/mentor on two of her own family’s personal projects. The first was a complete renovation and expansion of her New York City apartment, and, the second, a soup-to-nuts makeover of her Westhampton beach home. A decade later, Carol Kay Interiors has thrived and expanded her clientele, creating beautiful and functional living and work spaces in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Hamptons.

As a complement to interior design services, Carol also works skillfully as a home stager providing residential sellers with an opportunity that increases the sale price of their home while reducing the amount of time it remains on the market. Utilizing her own stocked warehouse of stylish furniture and accessories, she is able to transform a space within a value-enhancing budget. Ultimately, many clients have been able to sell quickly at significantly higher prices.

Although Carol always had an eye and an affinity for beautiful things, the first part of her career took her in a different direction. After earning B.A. and M.A. degrees in psychology and organizational psychology from Vassar and Columbia respectively, Carol worked as a human resource consultant and life coach. Carol was just as adept at helping clients navigate major career change decisions as she was helping others achieve very specific life goals including getting to work on time or even running a 5-minute mile. Consequently, the combination of her innate design expertise, client services background and interpersonal skills is unique and appealing.
